Pictures are not always worth a 1000 words

...or dollars for that matter. Warning, beware of breeders posting high end morphs on Kingsnake based on photos that they are posting. Always seek a second opinion before purchasing or you might get burned. You might be quite disappointed when your snake arrives if you base your purchase on photos alone. Only buy from breeders, both large and small, that offer a money back guarantee if not totally safisfied.

Or is this just a comment on the usual wild caught "Morphs" that are advertised in the classifieds?

A little of both. But I still smiling.

I, for one, am getting quite sick and tired, not to mention disguisted with all these "breeders", (who are really 'farmers') selling a very normal looking ball which SHOULD be sold for $25 for $100 simply because it is a high yellow, a partial stripe, or an IMG. I recently saw a guy on KS classifieds trying to sell a ball as an IMG (increased Melanin Gene, which increases the amount of melanin, giving the ball a look of having been glossed over in black. He was selling this snake for $300. However, if you looked closely, you would have noticed, the eyes on this particular ball were blue in the photo. Give me a break. I have e-mailed a few of these scam-artists, and their usual pre-meditiated response is " if someone will buy it, then it's worth whatever I charge". Unfortunately, it's usually the newbies who think they are getting a great deal on a morph. The best way to do away with these parasites, is to do your research, or only buy from reputable breeders.

I think you are right - it's the newbies that get burned. I believe it's the impulse buying that gets them into trouble. Hell, it has gotten me into some trouble as well.
