I would say those are pretty darn cool!

The melanistic trait in those strikes me as the most interesting to me personally.

Hi Doug

Thanks - the melanistic Diones are endemic to an area around Mostok in N.Causacus, its not known at present whether its a genetic trait or not as not that many have been bred to prove it either way. I find all the Dione localities interesting to work with as they are a great little snake.

Awesome!

Did you get them from the Tulsa serpentarium?

Hi Herman

I believe they are from Tula, but I got them via Gidi - I feel really privileged to own them.

I know Gidi, I've seen his collection, and I remember those quite well. He also told me how extremely rare the melanistic dione is, with only a handful of specimens living in captivity worldwide. That's why I was utterly surprised by your post to say the least, but now that it all adds up.

Congrats! Never ever sell them.

Hi Randy

Thank you - I love the eyes too, they appear alot larger than 'normal' Diones eyes but this could just be cause they are uni-coloured.
