I checked on my ball today and i found this in his hide. He is an import so theres no telling. Ive found ticks on him so far...2. I just stripped his cage down and sprayed it and all cage furniture with provent a mite. I havent noticed any mites. I have noticed some signs of scale rot but he is about to go into shed. He also is not eating like he normally does. Of course that could be from being in a new enclosure and/or about to shed. He is less then a year old. Still looks good. I keep his cage clean and temps and humidity right.

What concerns me are the things in these pics. If you have any idea please let me know. Thanks

I'm guessing that is his hide box in the photo. The hole edges look a little rough, and if he is in shed those could be just pieces of old skin coming off prematurely as he enters or exits his hide. Like I said, I'm no vet though.

Do the flakes feel like shed skin or are they harder? From the pic they don't have the look of a shed but again I am no expert and don't have much to go on.

Yeha it seems like scales from a shed. Definitely no places on body where it looks like hes losing scales. I put him into quarantine for now. Currently he is soaking so we will see.
