Well, she's not really that old, but she is yellow. Female hypo FL. king. Thought I'd join the Brook's fest.

What bloodline is Ol yeller from? Beard , Love, Krysco ??
Or was it outbred to create a more yellow hypo?
Just wondering how you arrived at that beaut?
Oh, she's just one of my babies, Rainer. LOL! I kept her and another as a pair, but both ended up female. At first I thought she was not the prettier of the two, but since have changed my mind. I breed her with my male posted way below, and get the darker, more banded hypos. When I breed that same male to the lighter female, I get the red hypos.(#99 to you) As an educated guess, I believe her to be from one of the wild collected hypos (or the ones that "popped up" in Love's collection.) Which brings me to the subject posted by Keith earlier about the various "lines" of hypos out there. He states there are Love, Krysko, Beard, among others. When the hypos started "popping up" in some cases spontaneously in various collections, who knew exactly why? Most of us have been trying to get the lightest possible Brook's for some time. I have seen one breeder keep only the babies with the most red and breed them year after year keeping the best ones. Eventually, he got his own hypos. We all trade often and there has to be quite a mix for sure. We'll see a particular snake in another breeder's "line" and get one or two to add to our own projects. With each breeder there is something a bit different added depending on what "lines" he is breeding into. I think the different looks are from the many different animals used to make the original "hets" etc. With a snake that goes through so much ontogenetic change anyway, it's hard to tell. Enough-- I'll let the brainiacs decide what I have.

Well put and so true Mark..when these hypos started popping up it was from WC unknown hets that the Loves sold to many people. But there were a few unrelated lines besides the Loves and Beards. Dem dar swamp boys can keep to dem selfs, ya know what I meen?
BTW what happened to my ol #99? Got any new hatch for me that rivals #99 ?
Will you be in Tampa on Nov 1st? If so I will come to your table and ask if I can grab, play, probe, poke, show and pop it 10x. Then I will ask $10 discount for a stressed out snake
I'll be there (here) since I live in Tampa. I wwon't have a table though. Email me and we could find one another at the show or you could come by. I still have #99. He has eaten a few times now plus since it's you, I'll have to double the asking price.

That has got to be one of the nicest Brooksi I have seen. Where did you get it from? When are you gonna produce some of those?
John Lassiter
John I've bred her the past two years and have been getting some nice babies. I haven't kept any from her, so I don't know just how yellow they will become (kept 1 this year) Sell for $40. at Daytona. I believe the darker "brown" hypos will lighten to a nice yellow.

That snake looks alot like my Hypo adult female. They look like they could be sisters. I really dont know where mine came from for sure. It was originally from Bruce Atherton and its a 99 hatch I believe. In talking to Mike B. who originally bought the snake as what Bruce thought was a extremely nice normal. Well It was a Hypo and a nice one at that. I think Bruce told Mike it was maybe from Rainer ???
Keith
Here is a pic of one of my babies I produced.

I did sell some hypos and a pair of adult Dream Kings to Bruce Atherton years back.

Do you remember whose strain of Hypo that you sold him ?
Keith
Well I only had Love and Beards . But it may have been a cross or the two lines. Don't recall.
Who knows? and Rainer, I think I take exception to the "swamp boys" remark. Make that 3x asking price!
