The fall can be the dryest time of the year. Humidity should be around 50-60%.
My female becomes more active around this time of year too, but not because she's looking for a way out. Its because she's hungry. I am currently feeding her f/t jumbos weekly and she still ready to eat again after 4 days. I was told that adult female boas and pythons do this because they are instinctual stocking up for the winter months.
Also my carpets have become mellower with age and become less jumpy. So I really wouldn't worry about that...
