just a little update!.....

DMong Sep 18, 2009 01:29 AM

..........for a few of the very adamant expert clan I see here,....Nelson's and Sinaloan's are from Mexico, not Central America!..LOL!

If they don't even understand that, how could they possibly be an "expert" on them, or any other types of milksnake for that matter in the first place???, that's what I can't quite figure out here.

here's a cool looking Sinaloan right?, it's just a little funny looking is all, with the 18 short little red rings, incomplete black neck ring notch under the throat, super wide black rings that arch far over dorsally, big light snout, black suffused tail, etc...right?. But it only looks funny like that because a few expert's didn't get their hands on his parent's, and make him into something else that's commonly seen in the hobby today..LOL!

Yeah Vinny,....those are like comparing a Chevy caprice to a Corvette!

For some funny reason, they just aren't quite the same thing.

Great lookin' animal's!

Dude, you need to not be so paranoid. Your not even qualified to designate a species so relax, do you want to diagnose my cough too? I was just posting comparisons pics. Dogs and wolves don't look so different either.

Seriously your opionion wasn't in question it was just a damn comparison.

thanks vinny and i apprecieate the comparison photos and believe it cements my opinion about them being the same snake. definately not enough differance in looks from those photos in my opinion to warrant valid ssp status. its one mans opinion vinny why try to demean and discredit me? why so upset??? howsa bout range and habitat oh wait they nelsoni and sinaloae ranges overlap huh? hmmmmmm...
im glad you disagree with me vinny it takes ALL kinds and i accept and embrace that fact, no hard feelings.

It's annoying Thomas becuase if you remember or reread my post I never question that you consider them the same species. Lumping and splitting has nothing to do with it. It's purely semantics, Darwin called subspecies varities/races/types whatever you want to call them there are phenotypic differences between them And if there are heritable phenotypic differences that means there is a genotypic difference between populations and that's all "subspecies" designation means.

I forgot your range "argument". That the ranges overlap is irrelevant, it's called sympatry. The range of Homo sapiens overlaps with the ranges of all terrestrial species. So are we the same species as chimps, orange, wolves, elephants and pixie frogs? Becuase you designation from range argument implies we are.

Stop being such a splitter.

North America...Central America...South America. It's all just America, and they are all just triangulum. I just can't understand why we need to differentiate anything?

(Yes that is sarcasm)

Sort of like that sweet little fellow you captured there in your own yard by the pond. Is that the same thing as a taylori?, or an amaura?, or a syspila?.........the answer to that is a very simple...no!, and for a huge number of great little reason's too.

Should any of this be so tough for some to understand?,...well, not really, but hey, that's just another silly opinion of mine..LOL!

later man!, ~Doug

Yes, I remember all that cool stuff. I don't think there's much in the way of triangulum literature or personal milk stories around that I'm not aware of.
