Extreme hondo question

jazmaniandevil Sep 18, 2009 09:09 PM

Are they all being called 'extremes' now? Or is mega still out there? Did Shannon's weird tricolor male produce anything interesting this year? At the end of this season have any of you found that mega and extremes are the same line-bred trait? Or is this just old news that I missed, lol?
Any input is greatly appreciated!

The megas are a type of extreme, they just came out of a different group of animals and have a little different look to them. I heard that someone said they bred the two and got all extremes and someone else got a different result. I won't bring up names because some people take themselves way too serious when it comes to this matter. More breedings should still be done to find out the real answer.

I met Terry last year at daytona and he is one of the nicest guys you would want to deal with. It's sad that he got out because of some of the stuff that goes on here. It does take the fun out it. I mean this is hobby right? A hobby is supposed to be fun I thought.

I only ask because I've wanted one (mega/extreme) since I first discovered this web site. It seems that the extremes are all that's sold now, just wondering if they were assimilated. If I recall the "megas" were a darker orange/more contrasting, and the contrast is what I like so much about them.
No picking fights here!

than just a hobby, i know my love of snake keeping has grown into a business as many others here have as well. terry is a nice guy unfortunately i didnt meet him when i was in daytona last year, but i can tell you he was also in the "business" of selling milksnakes dare i say the catalyst of the market and then got out, looking at the market today good business move, i admire that. now your saying that move of getting out was because of the forums/community and it not being fun anymore aww gee thats sad but i dont buy it especially coming secondhand, but whatever...
my point is yes the heprtoculture community should be a fun loving place embracing like minded people but then again so should the world huh? whether in business or in hobby around here a person cant even state their opinion, or will be misconstrued to make fun of or made fun of about spelling, etc, etc. so we all have a LONG way to go to make it a fun place. businesses, opinions and hobbies are PASSIONATE things and should garner at least some basic respect and they do in person its only on the forums you have these tough guy attitudes so i guess it balances out...carry on

Terry isn't actually out of the hobby/business just hondurans. Not selling anything especially since you won't buy ssp! Lol

Some just let their egos get all pumped up but at the end of the day we are just grown ups playing with snakes., whether it's our business or just a hobby.

It's tough to figure out how things are meant to be said when they are written in these forums. I choose to have thick skin am joke a bit.

Ps. You still can't dance!!

I'm neither smart enough to have timed a move like that, nor sensitive enough to have left because of anything on the forums!

After 40 years in Florida i bought a house in the little Kentucky town where i grew up and where most of my family still lives. I divide my time between there and Florida, and can't figure out a way to care for a collection when travelling so often. I have both adapted to life-without-snakes (humans are amazingly resilient!) AND miss it immensely. But my collection lives on in the hands of half a dozen friends who have parts of it on breeder loan. Now I live vicariously through this and the kingsnake and field collecting forums, and once a year get to meet many new and old friends in Daytona. Next year, Thomas.... !!
