my Nelson's morph

korbe Sep 18, 2009 11:15 PM

Last year i've bought a newborn Lampropeltis Triangulum Nelsoni on a show, here in Portugal. Since the breeder wasn't on there, i couldn't get any information on the parents.

The thing is: ever since i've got her, in every shed, she's losing the orange that she's got.. What kind of morph she is?! Do you now any case like this?

I'll leave several photos from different time periods, so you guys can what i'm talking about and make your judgement..

Nice snake. I have worked with some on the extreme end of almost no red visible at all. A few of mine did the same; slowly becoming more white and retaining less red over time.

High White Albino

An image of a baby from the male above. With each shed, the white seemed to infiltrate while the red slowly vanished

interesting. i hadn't known that existed in nelsoni. or tricolors generally. nathan, does the same occur in normal-looking, non-amel examples from that line? Does black (instead of white) intrude on the red areas, resulting, i guess, in black crossovers?
