LA pines in Louisiana

daniel1983 Sep 19, 2009 07:52 PM

I have done a little bit of looking without much luck. Can anyone tell me the legal issues associated with keeping Louisiana pinesnakes in Louisiana? A point in the right direction would be appreciated.

I dont think there are any issues other than needing a fishing license to collect them, and you cannot collect them in the national forest areas as well as snything for that matter. The sale of any native LA species requires a permit, but the permit is NOT needed just to keep a pet native species. I do not think there are any other legal considerations. Same as if keeping a native speckled king or texas ratsnakes.
