Red Tail Boa Issues with pooping

timmah Sep 20, 2009 09:56 PM

So I have had this Redtail Boa for about 5 months now and he hasnt been pooping hardly at all. The last 6 weeks I have feed him a mid sized frozen mouse every Friday. out of 6 mice he has not pooped and his body is hard as a rock. He also has been in his waterbowl for about the last 5 days, it is at the cold end of the cage, heat mat temps are around 90-95 hotside per inf gun.

any ideas?

Stop feedings . Soak it in shallow water at the high 80's. I have a couple Boas that only poop about every 4-5 weeks. They only get fed about every 20 days , while the others of the same size get fed 7-10 days .

Whats your humidity? Constipation and prolonged soaking are both red flags! You snake is trying to tell you something, are you listening?
