Well, it rained last night....

waspinator421 Sep 22, 2009 12:44 AM

It finally rained last night after about 3 weeks of beautiful warm, sunny, and rain-free days. My two very gravid BRBs looked about ready to pop and I thought that the next rainy day would deliver some babies. I got home from work this morning and checked on them, but alas, no babies.

While getting ready to head out the door for work tonight, I thought I'd give them a little peek and I saw slugs.... and a sac... and babies! So yeah, needless to say I called in late to work and collected the babies.

This was a very small litter, which was expected as mom is on the small side. There are 5 healthy looking babies, plus 2 that were still in there sacs, and 7 slugs. One of the ones in the sacs was severely deformed and won't make it. I'll have to put it down in the morning. The other one has deformed eyes, and it still may not make it but at least it has more of a chance than the other.

I snapped some quick pics, which aren't the greatest but you get the idea.

Right when I found them:

This one made a little nest for itself in the newspaper, lol.

Here they are after I got them into a tub:

Here is the tired but proud mama:

Still waiting on the other female to have her babies... definetely wearing a path in front of her cage!
