Give or take 18 months, more like between 1 and 2 years old.

Guess I should also mention some will go through an ontogenic change at or around sexual maturity. I've seen them go from...

Very colorful to almost anery looking.
Splotches of color changing.
Calico (white splotches) coming in (did not witness first hand)
Browning out.

None of those changes are common but they do happen.

I have seen some BRBs that change from normal to an anery color at around 2-3 years old. I am curious if this could be a "malfunction" of the gene that displays red pigment. Does anyone know if this is an inheritable trait? Has anyone bred two color-changing BRBs together to see if they will produce a true anery hatchling at birth?
