Floridana-hypo Peanut Butter and more...

Bluerosy Sep 22, 2009 11:30 PM

My new female hypo PB. (hypo x Peanut Butter homozygot)I had a male earlier this year and now I got him a mate. Here she is..

Sunkist Florida king. This is a Tnegative Hypo.Aka a true hybino. (T negative x hypo homozygot)

one of my favorites.. A super nice Peanut Butter. This PB trait improved from their original types since I outbred them to the original canal phase brooksi. The PB trait originated itself from S dade county stock as well.

Very nice!

that bottom one is nice. Most PBs leave me cold but she's got some red on her it seems like.

My hat's off to you... very impressive snakes and very productive season for you.

I am MOST impressed wit the Hypo-PB... for now they look almost like EXTREME versions of "Peabinos/Hybinos"

The PB is really nice as well... i actually like them better with that brown coloration... sets them apart from the original hypo... but that thin banded pattern is cool... should be a really nice adult if that red it's displaying now somehow "meshes" with that PB brown color.

Have you settled with SUNKIST rather than SUNGLOW or is that a typo?

I have 3.3 holdbacks from my Jelly X Hypo Flame... so i can't wait to see something like THAT pop out.

ya, they are my favoritebehindthe Blizzards. I don't know why though. But I think they are cool. I wish they could have a col name like sunkist or Sunglow instead. But tho aretaken by theT neg x hypo -hybino.

It WAS a typo. But I like Sunkist more than Sunglow. It was sometng i did unconciously. I guess because of the orange juice "Sunkist" label being synomous with Florida . Just seem to fit, don't you think?

Is it possible to use the Sunglow name for the hypo Peanut butter? Probably not. I need to check wa hpo x hypo homozygot parrelells with cornsnake genetics??

Yeah those should be awesome. Don't you jus love hets and new projects. You never know what will pop out of an egg .

I just looked at cornsnake gentics and my head is spinning. Man they are confusing as well. I thought that cornskank genetics had it a bit more toether than the Ball Python genetics..

A Sunkissed is a hypo type B and a Lava is a hypo type C.

Breed the two hypos together and get a Sunkissed Lava. That is what the two hypos (PB an Hypo)homozygot combinined would be called.

Sunkissed with Lava (both independant forms of hypomelanism similaro th hypo andPeanut butter) produces a doubly bright snake caled a Sunkissed Lava (ssssvvvv).

BUT theni findout a Peanut butter is equal to a Ultra. The peanut Butter is equal to a Ultra and has nothing to do with a Lava. The jelly i guess would be an Ultramel.

A Peanut butter x Lavender is a Ultra lavender in cornsnake genetics and not a Peabino. But I like th Peabino name better.

A Sunglow is a bright amelanistic and not a amelanistic x hypo at all.

And a Quartz or Powder is a more appropriate term for the solid white Blizzard Florida king that i just produced...or is it?

I could go on but for what reason? My had hurts.

I am sorry for your headache, since I probably provided the cause. I have been dealing with corn genetics for over 10 years and it still makes my head hurt.

I think once upon a time corn genetics did made sense. You had one gene that visually stopped the production of Melanin, one that reduced the production of melanin, and one that stopped the production of yellow pigment. Then a second gene that stopped yellow pigment popped up and since it mimicked the first they called it “Type B” and gave it a trade name even though it did not affect the gene in the same way. Other genes followed that affected one pigment or another in similar ways and were classified as just another form of the “Type A” gene. Now you have genes that are sequential to other genes not because they are the same but because they produce similar results.

I think in some ways corn genetics have gotten even more confusing than ball python genetics. I mean there is a book that has a new edition every year that describes the new traits and morphs that have occurred in the last year and it sells every year.

They are all beautiful. I like the name Sunkist. I think you should stick with it.
