How can one tell if a young male has or is producing sperm plugs. Also what is the difference of 'producing' plugs or if the animal already has them. How long does it take to 'produce' these plugs. Any pics. Thanks

You'll see it in younger males along with older males, I believe.
When they start developing plugs, you'll see it. It's those long thick snotty like creamy white things that will be smeared around a water bowl or in the water bowl. They will smear it anywhere really, you don't have to look hard to notice them. It's kind of obvious really, you'll see it most likely in they're water or smeared around the water bowl.
I'm sure other people will have similar encounters with this, in their male Boas?

There's no need to look for "sperm plugs".
To know if your male is producing "male fluids" just look at his tail.
A male that's making sperm will have a "swollen" tail, past the vent. There will be a noticable size difference and even scale seperation.
That's when you know he's ready. He'll also be pacing the cage, like he's hungry, but he really wants to get to the girls.
So, if your male has a "skinny tail" he's not yet producing sperm. If your male has a "fat tail" he ready to go.
