The “Brazilian” obtained this 12’ 53 pound Burmese Python last winter and was named Sheba. It soon became clear that she was a Man’s snake, for Sheba fought with the Brazilian, but loved to play and give me a hard time, in general. This was always done without striking or biting. Sheba is extremely strong.

I took here in a few months ago and I gave here her own room and swimming pool.

Three weeks ago she started sneezing.
Two weeks ago she started coughing up mucus.
I took her to the Vet and started here on Amikacin, for the lung infection.

The first visit she was testy after the exam and injection, Sheba secreted major musk and green pee (I think she is in heat) but allowed me to pick her up and place back in the bag.

The next injection was performed with a small opening in the bag, and never let out.

The third time, the Vet Tech took her back without me (warned of strong snake).
Sheba escaped, crawled up the other animal cages (7’) down and across the floor.
They called me and I entered as she was moving across the room and up another door, where I grabbed her. She fought hard and did her damnedest to bite me and crush my arm, while excreting more musk and piss.

I placed her in a separate room and left her for 2 hours. She hissed long and hard when entered.

An hour later I used a snake stick to capture her. She was still so mad that she even bit herself several times.

My question is “will she ever calm down and be playful again or will she stay in attack mode”?

just dont dick with her when its all said and done. Leave her be for a week with one of your dirty t-shirts so she can get familiar with your stench again. You have to remember, snakes are VERY stupid animals, and the fact that they can easily be tamed to get along with us is a mircle in the first place, and one of the reasons im so interested in pythons.

She is a big, very strong, Burmese Python.

Thank you.

I am really dumb, for I have used this method with bird dogs for years. It never occurred to me that it could work with snakes.

I tossed the shirt in the room just before she came out of here bath of seven days, prior to shedding.

She was resting with her head on the shirt, when I checked.

I also did the same with a nippy little baby Boa. He now seems to be very happy to hang on or around me without biting.

Again, Thank you.
