What is it exactly that makes this product "reptile safe"?

In what do you mean?

It's an inert product once cured from my understanding, and although I can't get the website up right now I don't recall the term "Reptile Safe" in the verbage.

The product does stick to anything...

The best person would be Brian from Micro Phase, as he is the product engineer.

Once cured, it has absolutely no odor and is safe for contact with reptiles. Just about any wood finish is safe when cured.

Yes I have used it. And honestly, once cured it has no odor at all, which is nice for the interior of a cage. The cured finish is tough as nails. It isn't brittle like water-bourne polyurethane. Isn't as pretty as the polyurethanes as the polyurea is a thicker coating.

Sorry I meant "Reptile Specific" Sgt holier than thou.

After doing some research on polyurea I see it is a very cool coating, quick dry time , superior tenacity, ability to be cleaned and non-porous nature. I just wonder if a cheaper option is just as practical.

I've been messing around with thinned down epoxy's as of the last couple months at work. We use it to seal concrete molds made of PGRG/Forton mg to give them better longevity. I do not recommend most people trying this as airborne epoxy is very dangerous and can get into your lungs or skin. For people experience in hazardous materials do some looking, for others I wonder why you have to spend the amount of money when there are other options?

Personally, I find it annoying. The person types his question wrong, people take the time to respond to it, then acts like a dick when he realizes he didn't type what he meant. Ever wonder why so many threads contain questions that go unanswered or have no reponses at all? Its because most of the experienced keepers who have so much information to offer have all but given up on forums due to people like this. Its just not worth taking the time anymore.

Bart you don't know me or my reptile keeping experience, Jeremy has a very condescending way of replying to post and knows all regarding all. I guess I over-reacted to this one because I was the one who did not word my reply correctly.

You know what annoys me? Things that are labeled "reptile specific" when in fact they are nothing more than a relabeled product, a certain mite remedy comes to mind as well as all those fake plants that cost $1 at a craft shop and $10 at a pet shop. I'm suggesting Reptishield is one of these but not certain and that is why I posed the first mis-worded comment.

I think it's good a lot of these questions go unanswered as most have been beaten to death over the years. A VERY small amount of research will answer them ten fold. Search "reptishield" in the forums and I'm sure you'll get all sorts of info pertaining to it's use in cages. Maybe that's why a lot of the "more experienced keepers" don't post anymore because they get tired of answering the same questions over and over again.

One of my cages I built and it's inhabitants.

Nice hat Nate! Be sure to wear that next time we're in the field..that way you can tell Border Patrol you're from France, not Mexico!

Nothing...

Its the same product available from micro phase as before, just marketed towards reptiles.

Unless something has changed there is no price difference between this and their other products of equal size and coverage.

Only downside I've seen is the gloss finish...although I've not used mine yet unlike mark.

Cheers
