I seen this little guy at the Sac show over the weekend and I could not resist. Baby black throat puchased from the same guys that shipped me my first baby black throat last week( post below ). Not sure if they are siblings or not but they are both doing very well and are feeding great. Both look similar but have slightly different patterns. I know...I got the monitor bug! Thanks for looking

Outstanding specimen. But how crazy do you have to be to own two giant BTs?)

Funny you asked as I was thinking the same. Shortly after the post a local friend called with high interest and picked up one of the babys. He is very much into monitors and I know It went to a very good home. These guys aren't water monitors but they do get pretty huge. Thanks

Right, not waters, but giants nontheless

I'm curious how much one of those pretty babies costs???
(Make it many hundreds, so I'm not too tempted!)

$100 otd at the sac show. And they're so well tempered as babies, no whips, not skittish, just hangs out in my hand.

That's way too cheap. Good job I didn't go!

Great looking babies. I remember when my little guy was that small. He's grown a little since then though. I have a female also and they have their own room. Looking to get some breeding this year. Good luck with your babies. Keep em hot, feed em alot!

WHOOOAAA...That guy is a monster. Great job raising him! How old is he now? Thanks for sharing

Thanks! "Black" will be 6 years old November. He just had a visit to the vet and could'nt fit on the scale, so with his tail not even on the scale, he weighed 66lbs, but a healthy 66lbs not fat. The last length I had on him was 7'11 tip to tip. That pic is about 2 years old so he is even bigger than what you see. His vet Dr. Monaco had never seen a BT that big and he has seen a bunch. He is a great herp vet. In the waiting room he has set ups with a Water montior, crested geckos, tortises and pirranahs. When I saw them I knew I was at the right vet. Your baby BT is beautiful, really nice color & pattern. I cant wait to get some eggs from Black and his girl. I breed Retic & Ball morphs also but my Blackthroats are my true passion. Goodluck with your's.

DINASOUR!!! You might have the worlds largest BT! His skin and coloration looks really, really good for being that HUGE. Best of luck with your breeding project.
