Not a boa, but my first........

dyagi Sep 30, 2009 01:27 AM

Ball Python; a Mojave, one of the morphs I've always liked. A big thanks to the generosity of Brian Gundy of Goodness Snakes. This past Sunday at the Sacramento Reptile Show I was chewing the fat with Brian as he was getting ready to close. We were talking about how bad economy was and he told me that he just recently got laid off and here I was whinning about losing 15% of my salary.
I told Brian if I sell a couple of animals I'll get a ball from him, but in a blink of an eye I didn't get the sale. He turned to me and said pick one, any one it's yours. I was a little kid in a candy store 12 high quality mojave's to choose from. So I picked this little girl. Thanks again Brian.
Since I'm rambling I'd like to THANK all my herper friends that has helped me one way or another. You guys know who you are, because I have too many to list and I don't want to miss somebody.
However there is one person I have to name because he's helped me a lot, in more ways than one and I'm not getting a boa for it either, that's Jeff Ronne. Thanks for all your help Ronne-san.

That times are certainly not as good as they used to be and I too have been affected by the economy, but I do believe that we will all pull through, some may not come out the way that they prefer but we will make it Derek.

The generosity extended to you from Brian is just a classic example of the "giving" that this community has to offer and that type of gesture does not have a price tag. That alone tells us that "money" is not the most important thing to some of us....instead, sharing, giving, helping, contributing, and above all affecting are the things we need to make a priority at this time.

Cool post and what a statement made by Brian!...oh and a pretty neat little python

I've been on the giving, and receiving end of free animals and I couldn't tell you which is more exciting

Great looking mojave D!

Brian has always proven himself to be a class act on the forums. His generousity just goes to show that he's a class act through and through!

Congrats on the new addition,

Are you kidding me!!?? You can't have any pythons as you'll be breaking the Ronne code!! Have you gone crazy? Welcome to the dark side! lol. Brian is a great guy and you should have seen the kids at his table with huge eyes and grins.

What a great story to start the day (only 9:30am here). Generosity, in all of its forms, get us through life- good times and bad.

I haven't been given a snake, but I have had some breeders work with me on cost so that I could afford some "wish list" animals. I'll be a customer for life and when I finally have some babies to offer, the kindess will be passed on.

Great looking Mojave! I have one too. Lovely morph. Congrats on your "candy".

Thats too funny, I knew you were gonna get one soon, the way that you were staring at them Sat when we were checking things out. I really like it. I guess I'll have to post some pics of the egg layer I picked up.

Easier to breed, smaller, etc. J/K still love the boas!
