what happened to all the snow balls?

adamjeffery Sep 30, 2009 06:55 PM

i was just thinking about the fact that we still dont see that many snow balls around. they have been around awhile now and you would thing their would be more. i wonder if it has to do with all the lucy morphs and co-dom breedings?
just an observation

Oh they are still being produced...just not as many. It is a very under appreciated morph. The potential is amazing with those guys. I can't wait to produce a few this year. I think we will be seeing some crosses in the future!

Also people are going after the Bels because they are a tad bit easier to produce. If you start from scratch the snow project can take 3 years to make if you are lucky. It takes a lot of effort to produce snows. Just my two cents...

I have seen 4 or 5 different people in the classifieds on here selling 1,2 or 3 each. That is really quite a lot for a 1 in 16 double het animal. You do not see very many albino pieds or caramel glows and they are the same genetic odds from double het breedings. E

Some one should cross one with a yellow belly. Then we would have yellow snow

FastDad Oct 01, 2009 01:30 AM

but don´t lick them, because yellow snow isn´t lemonice...LOL

Instead of using the albino, some people started project involving lavender albino axanthic.

Actually, it's have already been produced, and it's looked better than a snow .

Thanks for the info. I really like it more than the original snow. Interested to see more of it as it matures.

Adult snows turned out to look like faded albinos -- kind of a waste for the 1/16 shot -- on to bigger and better projects.

They don't look as cool as a lot of other double recessive so people don't want to produce them. now if the were litterally SNOW white with pink eyes they would be very nice..and might be worth all the time and effort....but the adults look like faded albinos like tosh said so why not do the albino pied, axanthic clown, caramel glow, dreamcicle or any other double recessive that LOOKS like a double recessive...im doing the axanthic piebald cause there's just something about a black and white pie...lol...just my 2 cents
