Memorial Day

timopar May 25, 2003 11:28 AM

I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude and appreciation to those servicemen and women who have layed down their lives in defense of our freedoms. Without the great sacrifice that these servicemembers have made, we may not be living a country where we have the freeedom to keep the animals we love so dearly. Their families have sacrificed their loved ones, unselfishly and lovingly, to ensure that we continue to be the land of liberty, with rights and freedoms that are the envy of the world. Tomorrow is the day set aside to remember those that have given the greatest sacrifice they can, and I would hope that all of us, while we are flipping the chicken and burgers on the grill, will keep a place in our hearts and at our tables for the memory of those that have done so, for without them our world may well be very different than it is. God bless the troops, their families and God Bless the USA.

To all of the men and women who have served to protect our freedoms, a very big THANK YOU! You should be proud of your accomplishments because so many of us are so proud to be your countrymen.

I just wish we didn't have to have a holiday to remind us. I am as guilty of this as anyone. Let's not wait for the next holiday to thank a vet!

God Bless America!
