How old and what size does a mexican black kingsnake pair have to be to start breeding???

There really is no rule of thumb. It depends on how much you feed the female. I have bred a couple yearling females many 2 year old females consistently.

Best thing to do is if you want to breed your snakes is feed them through the winter. if they are of size come March cool them down for 2 weeks. If the females ovulates she is ready to receive sperm from the male. None of this powerfeeding misnomer applies.

Males don't need the extra size/girth to produce viable sperm. It is the females you really need to work on to get feeding. But the males do need to be a respectable size but can still be thin.
