How much more care will a medium monitor take, like a Savannah?
They are certainly smaller but, based on the room you have available they are the best fit. A 6x3 cage is not big enough for a Sav. Savs are not very active when compared to an ackie and ackies will use every inch of a well appointed 6x3 cage. A pair of them would make for a great display cage. They will be out lots of the time and will be much more interesting to observe than a Sav.

how about a tristis?
They may be small, but they will be far more interesting to watch interact with one another than a single sav by itself.
They will also deal with an environment being around people very well. You should really look past their size if you are looking for a suitable "class pet(s)"
