Could my Nile eat chicken eggs from the super market or do they have to be fertilized. If they do have to be fertilized how can you tell they apart from none fertilized eggs.

Eggs are a GREAT supplimentary food item for varandis. They can be fed whole hardboiled, or scrambled and mixed with other items like chicken, turkey, crawdads, etc. I do this for young monitors in between rodent feedings. Twice a week or so.
Better yet, for larger monitors is balut. These are almost full term embryonated eggs - either chicken or duck. These make a better food for a staple as they are a whole food item, and my albigs love them. So will your nile when it's big enough. I get them on Sundays at a local farmer's market. You can get them at an asian or Phillipino food store too.

Cheers
