Got a call for a snake rescue today from someone nearby and found this little guy on her porch. He has a first band like a coastal plains and is very bright.

Nice little guy, hope he eats! And whats the locale? I would gues somewhere in NY...east? LI??
The locale is in Montgomery County Maryland.
The little guy did not want a f/t pink as is normal for w/c but he did however jump all over a skink in no time!
Now you've done it, its going to be fixated on skinks forever! Good luck in the switch.....or maybe you have enough skinks to feed it forever, LMAO!
LOL! This is an easy transition in most cases. The next meal just has to be a live pink with a little skink scent, which they almost always take, and then the scent weaning starts.
As funny as it sounds, I had to do that same thing for a stubborn Honduran of all things a few years back..LOL!
That sucker just WOULD NOT accept any mouse offerings at all, no matter what tricks I pulled. So one day I went ahead and offered it an anole and it bashed it,...so I did this one or two more times to give it a bit more weight that it lost from being so stubborn all that time, then one or two scented after that, then unscented from that day on.
Ya know what's really weird, is that I have a young adult that is still real particular to "brained" mice, even at 2 years of age..LOL!

Tell me about it. I have a eastern king that was CB and given to me because he would not eat. That snake STILL will not eat anything unless it is scented. (Been a year). Some are just born to be a pain I guess. The female LTT I caught for Patton last week just took a unscented large pinkie out of my hand about ten minutes ago. How's that for a good W/C snake!! Wish they all did that.

I think there is some temporalis influence on that one...where you found it is considered close to the temp range correct (at least by what the books say - lol).

That is what I was thinking Dave but who knows. Definitely not a plane ride away where Coastals are found.
Wish I could find milks like you do Joe
Thats really cool that it has a collar instead of the more common neck/head patterns.
This acrobat is one of yours from 08'

These are part of a clutch from near me

Just trying to "hook my boys up" with some good locale stuff!! The last two I posted are going to Patton. He will take good care of them and hopefully be posting some awesome baby pics in three or four years!
Cool!,....Phil will get it going. I'm sure some great looking offspring will result too.
