Amelanistic Goini X Eastern

ZFelicien Oct 05, 2009 12:52 PM

I know crosses are frowned upon here but these are really cool! Not to mention Goini and Easterns do intergrade in nature. The Amelanistic component is less likely to occur naturally... but isn't that the FUN in "Captive Breeding!"

I picked up this project from Scott Knotts and to be honest it was a spur of the moment decision to get these... i had 3.2 of them.... one male ended up passing i GAVE AWAY 1.1 and bred the 1.1 i kept this season.

Female drop 19... yes 19 good eggs... they all hatched out (with the exception of one i slit too early... because i got the dates mixed up)

I ended up with 5 Albinos (3.2) and a clutch full of "variants!"
I'll post pix of the others in this clutch once i get the time... in the mean time, here's my favorite from the clutch.

Amelanistic Striped/Aberrant Goini x Eastern Female:

I've likely to keep this project going... but i think breeding it into my Blaze Phase X Flame hypo Project will give killer results!

That looks like a red eye T neg albino. Which between the goini and eastern did that come from?

I dislike hy brids, but like some of the natural integrades. And that bottom one from your project? Killer.

Well thank you for your compliment! Means more when they come from people that dislike man-made crosses!

Well, I don't consider the ones that occur naturally to be man made. Although, I question the concept and definition of species, given how viable certain hybrids have been shown to be in the herp world that even can go cross genus(ball/woma, ball/carpet, bull/corn...the list is long!). It sure throws the old high school bio class definition out the window!

The assumtion that the albino gene was from Cali. just that, an assumtion that it came from Cal king.I impulse bought them at a small show and were labeled albino blotched, and the jobber didnt have much info. L8r C
