My Super Fly, Post-Shed

nephrurus Oct 05, 2009 11:00 PM

Here is my baby girl, I've gotten rid of the 2 fire fly sibs to her, so she will be staying with me.

Hope you like her, Big plans for her. Can't wait to breed a male super fly to her.

if you breed her with another super pastel fire all you can produce is leucistics and super pastel fires. wouldn't you rather breed it to a totally unrelated combo like a bumble bee, spinner or lemon blast? Then you could have a ton of different potential outcomes. you could have an eight or ten egg clutch with all different animals from single to quad visuals and supers. Just a thought. E

If I breed super fly x Super Fly the outcome should be super flies and Super Pastel Leucistics. Both parents will be super pastels, all offspring must be super pastels, even if they are white. Those leucistics from that breeding will be very powerful animals. If all i did was breed it to normals, i would be getting all Fire Flys, every clutch. Its not etched in stone but thats the plan.

I understand but I just see leucistics as a dead end as you will have a white snake and they only way you will know if it carries other genes is by the breeding. My suggestion was just to encourage more variety. You could have almost unlimited outcomes if you bred to avoid the leucistic instead of breeding for it. Just another way of thinking.

Agreed, make the Super Pastel Black Eyed Leucistic FIRST then worry about the combos later. Breeding with a male Super Pastel Black Eyed will make you ALL the combos you want ALOT and will do it for you alot easier than using single copies of Fire ever will.. Some people just have trouble looking at the "Big Picture" and the "long haul" , keep doing what your doing , there is NOTHING wrong with your thinking on this!

.....with you and Anthony! Make a black eyed leucistic super pastel! Very powerful and well worth the time and energy! If its a male you will be makeing triples, quads & more with ease! Good work! And what a nice looking girl!

Best regards,

Evan- I understand you completely, I just want the double super on this one, it just happens to be white. I, like most everyone else here has seen the "white snake" turn from a pipe dream into what is sadly....commonplace over the last decade. I have no desire to produce white snakes just for the sake of making them.

This animal will be a very powerful breeder in the growing arsenal of powerful morphs. The worst it can ever make is fire flys.

Awsome super fly and I like your thinking with that project and that's why I am doing hypo mojo to hypo mojo.... the combo potential is powerfull when you stop and think about it. But yet some just see "another white snake" but hey to each their own.
