Can anyone help me with some Local Info?

orchidspider Oct 06, 2009 02:12 PM

I just got a pair of LA Pines from Suffolk Selects this weekend at the Charlotte/Concord NC show and am very happy with them. Suffolk said that their pair is from Terry Vandeventer stock. Suffolk is mailing me copies of all of his records and info about his pair so I will have a proper paper trail for my records. However, with all my googling attempts, I can't seem to find any info on what local Vendeventer's stock comes from- and being Obsessive Compulsive about local info, LOL, I would love to have more info. Can anyone help me out?

Thanks for pointing that post out, I had seen the thread but hadn't read it due that I didn't have a pair at the time. Having read it, I have to say its one of THE BEST threads I have ever read on here. Carl at Suffolkselects is happily sending me copies of his paper trail of his pair (of which my pair are offspring) of Terry Vandeventer LA pines, and takes great pride in telling me all about the backgrounds and breeding of his snakes. After reading that thread, I am so glad I have experience buying snakes and knowing how to ask the right questions! I did get them at a deal, but not at one of those "too good to be true" prices that would have been suspicious. I was impressed by the degree that Carl was able to talk about his stock and the pics of his facility on his website.

You all continue to be a great help to me!

OS,
Congrats on your new pair. Do you know if they are from the same clutch (i.e., brother/sister)? Also, Did Carl get the animals that produced your direct from Terry V., or from a third party?
At any rate, please post some photos once you get them in your hands!!
Cheers,
--Brian
PS---Here is one of my Vandeventer-Young animals that was produced by Eric Richter this past season.
