more new Desert stuff...

robyn@ProExotics Oct 06, 2009 06:30 PM

Congrats to Marc Bailey for that great looking Desert combo below.

We have a few more clutches still to hatch with some great possibilities, and we have some smokin hot Desert Mojaves waiting to shed.

These are a few cool combos from the recent hatchings...

Tiger (Desert x Enchi) Het Albino- the Desert gene really seems to pull through some type of het markers that really add great pattern and lines-

We did a Desert Yellow Belly cross, and while these have not had a first shed yet, I think they are outstanding, and really exciting-

Desert x Spider Het Ghosts, again pulling through a terrific intense orange side color from the Ghost/Hypo? I don't know, sometimes these genetics just don't make sense, I mean, how is it possible? How does it work? : )

Deserts are a dom/co-dom mutation (yet to be determined) and these two animals hatched in September are two of my all time favorites-

2nd pic- same animal

Different animal, my favorite Desert male, with incredible chestnut side color-

Wow,those combos are incredible...cleaned up to the nth degree, but the "regular" deserts stand up very well on their own too, they are like the completely perfected pastel amped up with a little butter, caramel, toffee colors added. "Chestnut" works for that second one, but I think "Nutmeg" better describes what the desert adds to the yellow areas...just my humble oppinion though, take it for what it's worth.
Outstanding morph, I can't imagine desert is not at the top of everyones want list, I personally can't wait to see what a desert pewter granite pin looks like.

Wow - those Desert combos just keep getting better. Can't wait to see the Desert Yellow-Bellys post shed... maybe in Chicago?? Those are simply amazing!

Thanks for sharing,
Dan

I second that. I've been debating what to get when I can afford a new morph, and at this point it's a toss up between the champagne and the desert-after these few posts I think the desert has the lead.

by itself the desert is the cleanest, prettiest ball python ive ever seen. i love pieds, caramels, hypos, bees, et al. but these deserts are just beautiful! add the combo ability, and you have, to me, the most desirable trait to date. congrats to you jay, mark, and anyone else lucky enough to work with such a cool mutation. and lets see the desert clown already!
