Well, that is a very nice hypo, but it's not what a "true" extreme looks like. The "extreme" term gets used WAY too often by people nowadays for hypos that are only above average, and not extreme at all.

Without having to type out another lengthy drawn out post, here are a few pics of DEFINITE extremes. I think you will see a huge difference.

Again, that's a great looking hypo for sure!

best reagards, ~Doug

Thanks for the quick reply. I surely wasnt sure about mine being an extreme myself but i had a few of my friends say they thought so, so i figure id ask. the picture i took did make it a bit brighter than it is but i still doubted extreme. im still happy either way. mine does have the purple eyes though like your extremes. Is that common in all hypos?

DMong Oct 08, 2009 08:14 PM

Yes, that is very common to see some melanin reduction in the eyes of many hypos that are not extreme, so it displays some blood you can actually see within the eye.

And on the same token, all extremes will be so melanin reduced that they will have VERY ruby-red eyes instead of darker ones, or purplish/amethyst colored eyes.

Their bands are also a VERY light silvery/gray, sometimes it can even have a greenish cast to it. The bellies and throat are often totally patternless, and many times their pattern is also so far reduced, it is many times vanished, or partially vanished. I have several of those types too.

Hope this all helped a bit, and like I said, that is certainly a nice hypo, but just not an "extreme" hypo.

best regards, ~Doug

I'd agree with Doug. Nice hypo, but not an extreme. Here are three more pix: an adult, an adult vanishing pattern, and a newborn.
