mkurgan Sep 17, 2003 01:08 PM

i live in chicago, so the winters are freezing. my crickets are currently kept outside in my shed. it is starting to get cold at night now...and winter is coming. i have no room in my house AT ALL to keep them inside...does anybody have this same dilemma or a solution to my problem?

thanks

maybe a heater in the outside shed providing it can be done safely might be an option.. a space heater would warm a shed quite well i think.

We have the same problem, here in Tn.

I'm going to have to build an insulated cricket box with a light fixture in it for heat.

I'm thinking that if I could find an old non-working chest-type freezer, one that opens from the top like a cooler, that all I'd have to do would be to add heating and ventilation.

But failing that, I'll just have to break out the plywood and power tools....
