How often should a hognose snake shed?

ReflectingAbyss Oct 09, 2009 07:26 PM

I've had my hognose since August 21st and he hasn't shed (that I know of) or shown any signs of shedding. This is my first snake, I had a lizard before and he would shed constantly, so I'm just wondering if this is normal. What I've found and read on it states that snakes shed regularly, even more so when they're young, so I'm wondering if I should worry.

You will soon learn that hognose shed far less often than most other snakes.. And, when they do shed it seems to take forever..

There's nothing to worry about. Shedding is more frequent when the snake is growing fast, but even hognose from the same clutch don't shed at the same time for me.
