A Sulley Update

asia2003 Sep 17, 2003 01:18 PM

Hi All,

After Sulley's adventure he is doing great, I have had the last 24 hours to look him over for injuries, and didnt even find a scratch (amazing!!) He is doing very well, and is the same old sulley he was before. I gave him a bath, fed him a couple of huge meals, and he has had a lot to drink. One thing I wanted to ask though, do tortoises experience pigment changes out in the sun??? I only ask because his little head is darker now, and even after a good bath it is darker than it was before?? I fgured someone could probably answer this for me. So, other than a tan(??) he is doing very, very well.

But most lizards and snakes can experience pigment change when they have been stressed, and usually they go back to their normal color after they've returned to a more optimal environment.

Glad to hear you found him!

I know lizards also go dark when they are trying to pick up more heat.
