Anyone here know if Burms, retics i.e the big 5 are prohibited in Wisconsin. The WDNR website was less than helpful and the staff there on the live chat thinks pythons are native to the state. Any info would be appreciated. Rich

Xanthic cheese-headed pythons are legal
They are not prohibited on the state level but many towns and cities in Wisconsin have local ordinances prohibiting or regulating snakes over a certain length. For example the city of Madison WI prohibits snakes over 10 feet.
In many cases you can find city/town ordinances on either the city's website or on municode. They are usually under the provisions for keeping "Animals and Livestock".
