Found this little one outside of my apartment. Not into colubrids so any ideas?

That's a Prairie Kingsnake(Lampropeltis c. calligaster)
They are very closely related to Mole kings. There are two other subspecies.
Nice find!

"Better to be silent and thought a fool, than to open mouth and remove any doubt!"
Range maps show the northern area of Alabama to be occupied more by the red Mole King(L.c.rhombomaculata), so it could be an intergrade of the two I suppose, but it's really tuff to tell from those pics. If it's a more reddish brown, then it likely has more Mole(rhombo) influence, but it still could be an intergrade of whatever percentage of either.
But in any case, definitely a "calligaster" subspecies of kingsnake either way.
