Not to be rude but I will be avoiding that article like H1N1. I am beyond tired of anery alterna and amels and leucistics.

I appreciate Alterna for the natural color they exhibit. Natures Artwork inspired by desert beauty...

And to answer Lance's comment that I am sure he will make, I would just let it crawl away. I dont even think I would take a picture at this point.

I just found/read the VERY brief article on the Chris' Lucy Alterna. I think the Lucy project is intersting, but i am not much into all white snakes.. Although, unlike Steve i do like the look of the Anery, Hypo, & Ghosts..

Not even a photo Steve?... Really?

No, I would not even take the picture. I certainly wouldn't take the animal. Private land or not. I am so tired of all the amels and leucustics and phases. I must be getting old but I just dont have the patience for it. The heart wants what it wants. And my heart wants to see alterna that look like alterna. Blairs that look like blairs.

I want my 277's to look like 277 not black gap. I want Huecos that look like Huecos. I want NONE of them to be solid white. If the locality exhibits neat fading then I am ok with that. If the locality shows solid gray or speckling I am fine with that too. Each of us has to make a choice on what we like and support. My vote is to support the crowd that wants animals to represent the original locality.

Hope all is well. On a side note, the Cowboys look horrible this year. Just like I knew they would...

I'm all for whatever is created naturally. Amels, anery's whatever.

Steve, if you were lucky enough to find something unusual and it was legally found you would have to take it, if you didn't it could spread those darn genes around and ruin the entire locality for you!

I feel there is absolutely nothing wrong with Amels Anerys or Hypos and even man made Ghosts. I have great respect for the work that Dan J. put into his project and the work should be continued in a responsible manner wherever possible.

I agree. But what I mean by things being natural is that it isn't derived from selective breeding and inbreeding to create it. I have a love for all alterna but what I like best is breeding two wild caughts and waiting for the results.

By no means are hypos and anery's the best part of alterna, but I think it is a fun twist. I totally agree breeding two wild caught snakes to see what you get is the best part, although I do think breeding back to the wild caught parents is pretty exciting too.

Thanks Steve, I sent you an email why don't you reply?
