No interest in breeding from male

zues Oct 13, 2009 07:14 AM

Are there any tricks to get a male to breed? I have a male that shows no interest in the ladies. I need the specific male two breed two of my females.

Way too early to say for sure if a male shows interest or not. Breeding takes place into Spring/Summer, and for some all year around, so give it some time.

There are other posts below that have gone over this already as well, you might look into those for some other thoughts.

I have a male that shows no interest even after introducing another male to "stir" things up. The introduced male was very active.. doing all the male things. I removed that one but now the male i want to breed is on opposite side of the bin from the female. Ill keep trying. I have another pair that is breeding just fine.

The same thing happened to me with my mojave male last year. I introduced him at the beginning of November.

On mondays, I put him with her
On wednesdays I took him out
On fridays I fed him
and over and over again.....................the female laid for me just last month, so have patients.

I pulled him for good sometime in april. It took the female 5 months to brew these 5 eggs....hoping for a LUCY....I have always wanted one, but couldn't afford the 20,000 they were just 2 years ago...lol, so my fingers are crossed...good luck

it's not up to him ...
it's up to HER.......
when it's time...she'll let him know....

I have a male pied that NEVER looked at a girl before...
today....I introduced him to a new girl....he has seen many...
and he held her hand....it's a start...he likes her...(she is from NE ,is a blonde, and has a good pattern, not too fat,not too thin...LOL...(a NERD KID)...)
,,..
.......it's just starting to get cold......they'll breed soon....
...I just started early for giggles....and hey, I bred last October....guess what...one laid eggs like 2 weeks ago....11 months it took her.....so....it's up to her....
