Still having the same problem....

ooanwfndglryoo Sep 17, 2003 02:40 PM

Hi guys...I am still having the same problem with my beardie showing the black squiggly lines on her stomach...The hot side is right now at 108.3 and she is basking and the cool side is at 80.5....The only time the lines go away is when I put her food in....Her colors seem dull until the food goes in, then she gets very very vivid coloring to her and her belly turns snow white. Today during her bath I noticed that her colors got very vivid as well. I don't know what could be the problem so if anyone could help me that would be great. I've had the beardie for almost 2 weeks and we just found our vet and we're going for her first appointment on the 24th of this month =) She's getting a basic checkup and a fecal done...The price is $32 (is that a decent price??) Anyway here are some pics of my setup as well.

Thanks ahead for any input...This is my first beardie and I'm trying my best to learn as fast as possible and as much as possible.

-Justin

The lines aren't a problem, they are just normal coloration.

Not enough lighting.. try adding just a regular flourescent strip fixture that runs the length of the cage giving off a bright white light... we use the dual strips... one with UVB and one with a Cool White regular flourescent bulb... the extra light should fix that. It could also be stress from being in a large tank with open glass everywhere. Could try taping the sides of the tank with paper for a few weeks until your dragon has settled in.
