My new baby...

Hollychan Oct 14, 2009 08:59 AM

I bought another one. I found her at our Petsmart almost two months ago. My boyfriend said I shouldn't get her, since we're going to be moving to Texas in about two years and he's already concerned about how we're going to transport my menagerie. I bugged him and bugged him about it until he finally said, "If she's still there in a month, then you can buy her." Well, that was a month ago. She caught my eye because she was listed as an albino, but it's quite obvious to me that she's a lavender. (It's a little hard to tell in the pictures, but she has the very dark eyes of a lavender rather than the bright red ones of a normal albino) Of course, Petsmart isn't always given accurate information from the breeders concerning the hatchlings they receive. My Eddie had been listed as a California King. ^_^

Nice find , Remember albino does not always mean amelanistic, and lavender has been some what accepted slang for t-... due to them being lavender in coloration esspecially Young'uns. As you know Amel is an albino but not all albinos are amel. Congrats and have happy day.Chris

Thanks. I'll find out in a few generations, I think, after she's big enough to breed.

I'm going to post more pictures of her later, hopefully some better shots of her pattern and head. She had just eaten two pinkies at the store yesterday right before I bought her, so I didn't handle her at all. It's a long drive home from Petsmart and I didn't want to risk a regurge...
