I am looking for a creature of some sort that eats land snails. I have a 55 gallon terrarium that housed about 10 giant land snails I aquired. I didn't realize that my set up was what they liked and now I am blessed with TONS of little snails. I know they are invasive species and as such can't be let go, but I also like my snails and do not want to have to kill them. I would like nature to take its course and would like to find a natural predator to eat the excess. So I am open to suggestions. I have an never ending supply. Willing to buy, adopt or give a home to a creature that will help me out. I am a animal lover so he or she will be well taken care of.

Also any other suggestions would be great.

There are only a few specialized snail eaters out there, but those that do eat snails are darn good at it. The few I can think of off of the top of my head are pink-tongued skinks and caiman lizards. Blue-tongues are also pretty good at snail eating, but are definitely not specialists. Fish wise clown and other loaches love snails.

I have a friend that has snail eating snakes. They were imported and difficult to get, but I know she has intentions of breeding them. This is her web site with a few pics of the snakes (she never told me the species, and I was never interested).
