Thanks

Hey thanks, but why are they extreme? I just dont see it...
Marketing, Extreme Hypo sounds better than Average Ghost.
TSK were the first to correct the term and call them what they truly are i.e. ''Hypo'' when they proved out their own lineage of Hypo, followed again by properly naming the double homo Hypo Axanthic a ''Ghost''.
This is slowly getting more and more acceptance in the ball python industry, why some still refer to Hypo as Ghost is beyond me! After all, didn't the very popular Salmon boa get changed the ''Hypo'', nomenclenture in our hobby is a joke!
Well I thank everyone for their insight. I was browsing for a some fresh Hypo blood for my collection. When I noticed the name was wondering if it had more blushing or faded better.
The original Extreme Hypo was imported from Africa many years ago. We got it as a baby in a shipment through LA Reptile. It was noticably better looking than other hypos at that time. So the name Extreme was given to note its looks. Then as stated in another post we proved it to work with orange line hypos as well. When bred to the orange line the orange is really intensafied and makes a much better looking ghost. The same hold true with the hypo mojave. Hypo mojaves bred into the extreme line are amazing as adults. There are some other stunning lines of hypos out there as well but breeding the Extreme line in just makes them better. I will take a few pics next week and post them for you to see.

Hey Dan
Thank you for the insight on the extreme hypo. As stated above I was looking for a hypo that would accent the morphs I am working with. Most hypos that I have seen don't give me the WOW! factor I look for in my morphs. I tend to pick and choose very carefully to add more WOW! to my morphs.
John
Have you seen the G1 Hypos from Graziani? They are kind of cool, and do not cross into any of the known existing Hypo lines.
Dave
Actually I didnt, but now I have seen it. Kinda cool but is that really a hypomelanistic. My understanding of hypo ment lacking black pigment.
If any thing I think the G1 Hypo is something completely different. Almost all lines that I am aware of "GHOSTS" are compatible. Except the Desert Ghosts, which in my opinion is very much so not a Hypo at all. Some of the naming of "morphs" are way off based ie. Ghost should be a term used for what we refer True Ghost.
Just my two cents....
Here is a gh.. err hypo I produced (my first) descendent from TSK Extreme on one side and Sharp (I think Orange or Yellow) on the other. So half TSK line and anther case proving it compatible with the larger group.
This is right after his first shed. Wish I could have kept him to see what he looks like with some size.

This is one of the best I've seen...she still looks this good at 2 yrs. old.

Sorry, didn't realize you were referring to a named animal...I'll just call this "A really cool hypo"

She is pretty. She looks like my Butterscotch Ghost. Which, according to this thread, is technically a Butterscotch Hypo...

Hey, is it Lyn? Nice specimen you have there. Mine is from an orange line, she's not going to be big enough this year, but I have a male just like her I'm going to cross into another line and see how much of that orange comes through.

Yup, this is Lyn. I will be putting my Butterscotch male with a female Spider 66% PH Butterscotch (fingers crossed). I also have a nice Pastel Orange Ghost female (or are they now considered Pastel Orange Hypos?) I can't keep up with these name changes. Same with my Corns. My fav morph is Bloodred, I've been into them since 2002 when that's all they were called. Still most people refer to them as Bloodred but there are a few who want it changed to Diffused and slam anyone who still calls them Bloodred. But I've been calling them Bloodreds for 7 years so it's hard to switch gears. It's hard when some people call a morph one thing and some call it something else. Coming from a Corn Background into Balls was tuff. Really took some time to get my head wrapped around the whole Co-Dom, Dom, Super, thing. I have a handle on that now, but am still trying to learn all the names of the morphs and combos. Mind boggling how many there are!!! Started off with only one morph (Mojo male) last year, am now hooked.
