Last meals .......

JKruse Oct 16, 2009 01:00 AM

That time is here again. The last of the 2009 obnoxious children take what could be their final meals, and the adults shut down like clockwork with the exception of one adult Coastal zonata female. This is the time of year I bittersweetly anticipate -- longer sleep, more time just lounging with some cake and coffee, etc. I, myself, would not mind brumating for several months come to think of it.

L. z. zonata x L. z. multifasciata (Diablo mountain kingsnake -- Mt. Hamilton)

L. z. agalma (Sierra Juarez)

And God said, "Let there be zonata subspecies for all to ponder..."

Although, I'd choose spring. I like summer and winter, wouldn't want to sleep through them. But an extended 2-3 month period consisting of mostly sleep? Ooooh yeah
