Am I correct to assume....

That the motley gene and the hypo gene cannot be passed on by the same parent, and rarely merge unless both parents share the same traits? I've never looked at the motleys that much before but I have been thinking about adding one to my collection. I'm interested in getting a hypo motley het anery.

If I eventually get the above mentioned snake and breed it to an anery, there is no way I could get ghost or anery motleys is that correct?

there was a thread here not too long ago about the combination of hypo and motley genes but my computer is acting up and I'm lucky to be posting this.

if anyone could help me understand the hypo/motley cross I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you in advance.

I have not bred a hypo motley to a normal to 'prove' this theory out.. But since all this talk is pointed that it would be the case, I want to try it to 'prove' people wrong, (or right).. It makes the breeding(hobby) more interesting when you really dont know what you would be getting in the litter...

From my understanding that is correct, a hypo motley to a normal will produce hypos and motleys no normals. However I havent bred a Hypo Motley to a normal so I couldnt tell you for sure.

However by breeding a Hypo Motley het Anery to a Anery you should get Anery Motleys, Motleys het Anery, Ghosts, Anerys, DH Ghosts, and Normals het Anery

A HypoMot het Anery x Anery , wouldn't yield any normals het for Anery, because the Hypo Motley either throws Hypos or Motleys - as it seems

Anery motleys have been produced a few times and correct me if I'm wrong, but so have ghost motleys.

BNixon Oct 16, 2009 10:19 AM

They have...Jeremy has or had them on his site...in his "Boa Blog"

From all the stuff going around about hypo motleys I would venture to guess it might have been a Hypo Motley het Anery to Ghost or DH Ghost or maybe a Motley het Anery to Ghost.

I myself this year an putting together my Motley het Anery poss het Albino in with a Ghost het Albino Male so Im hoping for atleast a few Ghost Motleys.

Sounds exciting..

This year I will be putting on of Shane K's Hypo motley het lipstick to an Albino 'coral' Motley.. I hope to produce albino Super Motleys, and perhaps a 'red' or 'white' devil...

Pretty sure it's when you attempt to get super motley hypos where you run into genetic problems. From my own personal experience, others I've seen, and those you never do see, I wouldn't go for super motleys again, and can only wish those that do good luck!

Hey Shane,

Im putting your male hypo mot het lipstick in with my 07 female albino mot.. I know she is an 07 but is about 6ft and thick, so I thought she is large enough to go a bit young.. Not much movement in him lately but I just put them together about 20mins ago.. Hope to get an albino super motley.. Question, did you produce any sunglow mots this year. I havent seen any of your posts this year.. Did you get any litters in 09.. I would like to see the color of your albinos that you produced, as I wonder how intense the lipstick line comes out in the albino form.. I will soon to know in 2010 if everything goes right.. fingers crosed.. The female albino mot is from the coral linage, so Im exticed to see what comes.. Hopefully the sunglow mots are as colorfull as this one from the coralxlipstick line..
