Red Axanthic Pastel

TomBarnhart Oct 16, 2009 10:26 PM

Had a nice clutch hatch out recently for me so I figured I post some pics. The clutch had 1.0 pastel red axanthic, 1.1 red axanthics, 0.2 pastel HRAs and 2 HRAs (not sexed yet)

I've included a pic of the pastel red axanthic and a pic of the pastel red axanthic next to a nice red axanthic for comparison. Always hard to capture the true look with that new, shiney, fresh out of the egg look hatchlings have.

I love the color of the pastel red axanthic. Almost a very faint purple/pink-silver color.

Thanks for looking,
Tom

i have 1.1 het reds from jim at jds reptiles and his stock originates from ralph davis. i am planning on trying my male with a female pastel this year and the female het red if she can get to size. cant wait for my little red axan pastel spiders a few years down the road.

Poor mans pewter lol ! Must be joking !

First pewters are more affordable than these !
And they look better, and keep the nice look as they age, what can't be said of the pewters IMO.

Congrats, very nice.
You are right, very hard to capture their color.
Still one of the most under rated morphs.

Here's a female Pastel Het Red that I produced this year.

Congrats on the red axanthic super pastels Corey! They look awesome!
