Hanging around with Dinner!

chrissyk35 Oct 17, 2009 06:46 PM

Just had to take a couple pictures of My Ball Python, Siegfried, chowing down on his dinner, half in, half out of his cage. His feeding response has never been aggressive, but this time, as soon as i opened his cage, he popped out so fast to grab the rat, i didn't even have time to do the little wiggle with the hemostats that i usually do. He just looked like a jack-in-the -box when he grabbed the rat

We've had that happen before, Wilson, our eight year old female. Our feed tank is about a foot tall, and while my husband was dropping in the rat, she shot in the air, her head raising over the top and had the rat fully wrapped before she hit the bottom of the tank. Scared the crap out of me because none have ever done that before and I sure wasn't expecting it, lol.
