Off topic...but funny

ok...I have this yellow monitor *varanus melinus* and i moved his vision cage and i think the door slid open a little and he escaped....well today i hear this scratching near the sink in the bathroom.

well if you ever had a snake escape you know about the spot under the cabinets.....d@mn that spot...well anyway i figured it out he went in there and this one has a hollow spot on the right side...and yes, i broke the cabinet. I had about a half inch space cracked all the way up and down the right side of the cabinets under my sink...and i see him.

Then...about 30 mins in to it, he gets nervous and decides to poop, i dont know how he did it but he came right out the thin slip he wan in and got all over me.....

then while im washing off he decides to come out....only to run in to the other side which also has a hole....i repeated the process to find out after breaking both sides of the cabinet that this slit is thinner and not only can i not fit the snake hook in but i cant even see more than 2 inches inside...

*head hits desk*

Moral of the story is, i HATE all holes under cabinets. i had a ball puthon that liven in one secretly in my pation for 2 years...

Funny how these things get lost in a house.

I had a few escapes this year in my house from neonates. Just found one the other day inside the dishwasher. The dishwasher door was closed and sealed tight. The dishes had just finished the washing night before. I opened the door in the morning and there it lay on the bottom. He was alive and healthy. Go figure?

Another time I dropped a baby Florida king on the carpet in the upstairs hallway while taking pics. It immediatly scooted under the area where the wall meets the floor.. that tiny area where you slip cable under the carpet and under side moldings. Anyway about two weeks later I was in bed and it was morning. I was awakened by something crawling inside my pillow case. It was that snake that I dropped. Man was i happy.

Goini x lavender florida king

Gorgeous snake. Are we any closer to locking that patternless Goini gene into other projects that crosses over to females too?
