Skiddish behavior

I have an adult male sable who has recently become very skiddish. What can cause this? I have recently added a new hide to his house and more clutter in the hope that he will feel safer.

He finally ate (a medium rat) today after 3 weeks. I tried a week ago (his normal schedule) and he didn't come out of his new hide. Any advice on following up with a mouse in a week or is he okay for another couple weeks?

Do you mean 'skittish', i.e. nervous.? Ball pythons are prone to being a bit skittish and the hide should help him feel more secure. A medium rat per fortnight should be about right for him.

yes, nervous. he just shed and still has one eye cap. i am not sure of what to do about that. after he ate last, he seems back to his normal self. he had a nice time out this morning while we cleaned his house from the shed.

should i do something about that eye cap? if so, what?
