please help!

hi i have a 08 pastel ball python that probed female by only going 3 scales deep but when i've tried to pop it, it is very very hard to pop but the smallest hemipenes i've ever seen pop out my 72 gram male pastels are larger much larger than his. so is it a male or female please help!
