when you are putting the picture on the forum or other computer use. I agree a good camera helps the overall shot, but you can only use a limited size picture.

BTW, nice snake.

The lenses do most of it.

What's important is also the sensor. Getting a good sensor will help. An SLR have better sensor than all those point and shoot camera and it's also have a higher number of pixel.

Yes DSLRs are great and I recently sold my XSi. All the accessories I wanted/needed would have cost me thousands of dollars, So I dumped it while it was still the top consumer level Canon DSLR and got this one the other day. This is the Canon powershot SD980 (i think) IS 14.7mp point and shoot. It is also the size of a pack of cigarettes, my XSi was a ton of crap to carry around. I can whip this bad boy out and take a pic of my daughter doing something cute in just a few seconds.
