Nice shots, John. Isn't it amazing how many you have to take to get the focus just right? BTW, I really like the thayeri with the mostly gold/yellow face and cheeks. And those mex-mex are striking as well. Thanks for breaking the ice -- it HAS been slow around here (cue the crickets). --Tom

Thanks for the kind words Tom...
That Golden looking one is ROY...He is an the son of "Old Yeller"....He is an Evan Stahl X Dan Vermilya offspring produced by David Weymouth....The only intermediate Old Yeller ever produced....I hope to carry on his bloodline....
The MSP is another son of Old Yeller too....He is the sibling brother to "Sharktooth" now owned by Jonel Lopez.....
I have a couple of Louis Torres females for them both next Spring....
Another fun project I have going is my Mex Mex breeders....I have EVERY possible phase there is now (Hypo-E, Black, Totally Speckled, Granite, Burgundy, Splitbanded, Nuchal Striped & Classic)....I hope to produce some never seen before offspring in the next few generations...Should be fun.

What you got planned to pair up next year Tom?

Hi John. This fall I have two male and two female thayeri that I have raised up from hatchlings and that are now breeding size and in condition for brumation. They are:

Male 1:'05 Bodner leonis, dark-mustard base with bow-tie markings
Male 2:'06 Vivid leonis, orange with reduced black
Female 1: '06 Minesinger leonis, cream with reduced black
Female 2: '06 Cherry msp (Laredo line), bright red and orange

I will search my unheated basement for a microclimate that gets down to 40 F, but not below. My usual brumation spot only gets dowm to 58 F, which I have gathered is too warm for good sperm production.

I'm experienced in incubating snake eggs, so all I really need are fertile ones!

Below are the males.

Some people will argue that point but I will say that I brumate mine at 55F and get viable sperm...
I know some that merely drop temps into the high 60s and get good results....
Also...it is VERY hard to get temps below 55F here in south Texas....It's a challenge for me to get temps to 55F and hold...It is achieved artificially (A/C Unit).....
I don't there's a place in my house that has ever seen 40F....LOL
It very seldom gets that cold here at all...OH..and we don't have basements in Texas....LOL

Here are the girls. I panicked last week when the cream leonis escaped (when my back was turned -- they know). Luckily I found her in a file drawer near my adult rack. She had dropped to the floor, crawled under the file drawers, went up the back and into the second drawer from the bottom. She was curled up in a folder labeled L. I'm not sure whether she filed herself under leonis or under lucky for me to have found her. In any case, she's fine and back to gobbling large hoppers.
