pair of everglades

mattkau Oct 22, 2009 07:12 PM

Here are some pics of my everglades rats. I don't know how pure they are, but I'm happy with them. They were both kind of impulse buys at shows. Well the female was, so then I had to get a male. Here are some pics of the 08 female.

If I ever get panthertophis ratsnakes, it's gonna be a trio of nice everglades rats. Those just phenomenally cool snakes. Had a juvy trio years ago but a coon got 'em.

Those are very nice. I love the glades.

Very nice Matt. My one male glades is an especially interactive and interesting snake. Also perches almost 24/7 like a tree boa!

Thanks. My female does the same thing. I have her in a large homemade enlclosure with a couple large texas rats and is always on a branch. The texans only use them occassionally.

Those look real nice!

Also, look to see if the tongue is red, or black. This is a good indicator as to the purity of the rossalleni lineage. If it is black, or a both black and some red, it could have a bit of quadrivittata in it's geneflow to some extent, if it is solid red, it's basically most or all Everglades(rossalleni). Nice orange chins and throats and very orange/red irises are also very indicative of genuine rossalleni too.

Those should color-up real nice as they mature, so enjoy the show!..LOL!.

I agree. That's why I wrote "I don't know how pure they are". The 08 female has an orange tonge and just a hint of white on her chin. The 09 male on the other hand, has some black in his tonge and some white on his chin, but he is already turning a rusty orange color. Like I said, they are nice enough for me. Thanks for the reply.

If I saw those at a show I'd be buying them "on impulse" too.
Those are really nice!
